 This year's All-Capitol Conference girls soccer team looks a lot like last year's team.
Sugar River sophomore midfielder Hannah Kernen was named Player of the Year for the second straight season, and was one of eight repeat selections on the 14-member first team named by conference coaches.
Kernen had 33 goals (seven game-winners) and eight assists for 74 points for the Raiders, who went 7-1 to win the conference championship. All three of Sugar River's first-team all-conference players were sophomores, with defenders Rachel Skolaski and Mackenzie Christensen joining Kernen. The other repeat choices on the top squad were Poynette-Portage senior midfielder Taryn Latour; Watertown Luther Prep junior midfielder Bethany Schultz; the Lake Mills duo of senior defender Emily Berns and junior forward Sara Eck; and the Lodi senior trio of goalkeeper Tiaha Wagner, midfielder Alyssa Strasser and forward Anna Strasser. Latour was named to the first team for the fourth straight year, while Schultz and Berns were honored for the third consecutive season. First team Goalkeepers: Tiaha Wagner, sr., Lodi.
